At least the people in the article admit that they are crazy.  Long before we run out of oil, the price will be driven up by Chinese demand for oil and Americans will be priced out of the market.  China already consumes more than 45% of the world’s total output of steel, which drives up the price in our grills, cars, etc.  Americans need to transition to a “green energy future” not because of peak oil, but because we won’t have the money to be competitive with oil based technology.
